We're selling them so fast, we're running out of stock.

It has been a great season once again for Lighthouse Yachting, having sold 25 boats this last season. Once again, all the feedback from our clients has been positive and very encouraging.

One client had heard of our great success and decided to bring his boat to us from Grenada to sell it. We did one better and bought it from him.

We've now had a great rest on our new boat, sailing down to Martinique and are now preparing ourselves for the upcoming season. We'll be restarting the VHF cruiser's radio net and still hope to organize a cruisers get together early in the season.

Magic has arrived in Australia

Mads and his family have safely returned Magic to her owner

In October of 2017, we had the pleasure of meeting Mads Toft.

He had decided to purchase a sailing yacht to take his family sailing as he'd been diagnosed with cancer and this was an as yet unfulfilled dream of his as well as being a way to spend some quality time with his family.

He had made an offer on a Hanse 505 that was listed in Antigua with another broker and on viewing it, discovered the mast had a major kink near the top and decided to walk away from the deal. He then approached us to view a Hanse 540e that we had listed but alas this vessel was on the hard in Panama. The seller had sustained damage to the main and foresail while taking it back to Australia and had to return to Singapore for business. Mads asked if we would approach the seller with the following offer:

He'd deliver the boat to Australia after cruising the Pacific
Put new jib and main-sail on the vessel
Take out insurance on the vessel for the duration of the delivery
Pay all other expenses associated with the delivery (Fuel, general maintenance etc.)

Paul graciously agreed to Mads' proposal and in December, Mads and his family flew in to Panama to prepare the vessel for launch with her new jib and mainsail and then headed off on an extended delivery.

We've just received the following wonderful email from Mads advising us that they have arrived safely in Australia and have also had the opportunity to meet the seller Paul who will now take his boat on to Singapore.

After a year underway the family and myself have arrived safely in Australia.

I wanted to thank you both for being so kind and generous in connecting Paul and myself to make this trip on board Magic possible. As you are aware the boat deal already signed in Antigua went sour and without your assistance I could not have realized my life-long ambition of sailing across the Pacific.

I met Paul for the first time in Queensland a couple weeks ago and handed back Magic to both parties satisfaction. She will remain there until May after which she will move to Singapore.

Nelson's Pursuit Race

31 December 2018

The race was conceived as a re-enactment of Lord Nelson’s famous pursuit of the French fleet under the command of Admiral Pierre Villeneuve across the Atlantic in 1805, culminating in the blockade of Cadiz and the subsequent battle of Trafalgar, Nelson’s greatest victory, during which he was tragically shot and mortally wounded by a French sniper.

The slowest boat to enter the race starts first and carries the French flag, with the remainder of the fleet representing the British in hot pursuit attempting to capture the French flag and claim victory for the Brits. Effectively, all boats are assigned a start time based on the size of the boat and its anticipated speed around the course. The first boat to cross the finish line is declared the winner!

Superyacht Challenge Antigua

The 9th edition of the Superyacht Challenge Antigua will take place from Jan 30 – Feb 3, 2019 featuring a programme of four races held over four days. The magnificent fleet take part in spectacular racing, with daily pursuit races along the stunning south coast of Antigua. Warm trade winds and ocean swell produce ideal conditions. Sailors from all over the world gather for competitive racing and fun-filled social events including a glorious prize giving held at the Admiral’s Inn.

Designed to be solely for the pleasure of superyacht owners, their guests and crew, the Superyacht Challenge Antigua organises competitive racing and laid back parties. Every evening a social event is held within the magnificent confines of the UNESCO World Heritage site; Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua. The Superyacht Challenge Antigua is the first superyacht regatta for the 2019 season and will feature a stunning array of yachts.

Antigua 360° Round The Island Race

The Antigua 360º Race providing a 52 mile anti-clockwise circumnavigation of Antigua will take place on Friday, February 15th.

Organized by the Antigua Superyacht Challenge committee, the race is followed 3 days later by the RORC Caribbean 600 offshore classic.

Course: Fort Charlotte - Antigua to Port – Fort Charlotte.

Distance: Approx. 52 nautical miles.

RORC Caribbean 600

The RORC Caribbean 600, as the name suggests, is a 600 mile race around the Caribbean islands. The RORC Caribbean 600 starts and finishes in Antigua, the competing yachts pass 14 magnificent islands in the central Caribbean. Some of the best sailing grounds in the world are blessed with stunning scenery, including the remote cliffs of Saba, the white sandy beaches of Barbuda and the twisted volcanic rock faces of Montserrat. The turquoise sea, blessed by the Trade Winds, produces exhilarating sailing conditions and whales, dolphins and turtles are a common sight. By night the competitors race in warm breeze under a carpet of stars, seldom seen with such clarity.

Antigua Sailing Week

28 April - 3 May 2019

Over the last two decades, Antigua Sailing Week has become one of the biggest events in the international sailing calendar, and it is one of the most fantastic times to visit Antigua and take advantage of an island-wide party. From small beginnings, the regatta has developed into a world-class event and now includes an Ocean Series for boats that prefer ocean racing.

Most of the racing is off the south coast of Antigua with some of the fleet going up the west coast to Jolly Harbour on Thursday. The Event Village is located in Nelson's Dockyard, English Harbour and is the central point at which all the crews gather after the day's racing is finished to exchange stories and enjoy happy hour from 3 to 6 pm. There is a combination of background and live music every day and evening in the Event Village and some nights there are parties in various other locations.

Antigua to Bermuda Race

8 May 2018

The 935-mile Antigua Bermuda Race is organized in association with Antigua Sailing Week and is supported by the Bermuda Tourism Authority. Yachts of 40ft and over will be racing under the IRC Rating Rule, MOCRA and the CSA Racing Rule, with the latter amended to permit boats to use their engines, subject to a time penalty. The Royal Bermuda Yacht Club, with many years experience hosting the Newport Bermuda Race, will guarantee a fantastic welcome and a great party.

The 2019 Antigua Bermuda Race will start on May 8, 2019, five days after the 52nd edition of Antigua Sailing Week. There will be a crew party for all participants the day before departure and a Prize Giving at the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club on May 16, 2019. Some exciting full boat race charters and head charters are available via the web site.
