VESSEL SPECIFICATION

Description:

Prism description

Turn key Caribbean cruiser, a much sought after Oyster 435 deck saloon ketch actually for sale in the Western hemisphere! Originally a racer cruiser, she still sails fast and the ketch rig balances easily. Center cockpit offers comfortable ride and good visibility. A lifting keel allows a shoal draft of 5’ (think anchoring closer to shore) as well as the ability to make good upwind progress.

The semi-custom interior features two cabins with en-suite heads, nav desk, large saloon and in line galley. The raised deck saloon is light, spacious and airy. The large in- line galley has plenty of storage and is safe in a seaway. Having a large single sink plus a drain board is the best. The drop leaf dining table will easily seat 6. The feeling of space in this boat is amazing for her size.

Forward is a full 6’6” V berth with extra storage on the port side, several drawers and a hanging locker. En-suite head has new Corion counters and steel sink. Aft there is a center line queen, with settee and vanity on one side and drawers plus double hanging closet on the other. Extra large master head also with new countertop and sink. Drawers and storage under both berths.

Since purchased in late 2008, she has had many upgrades mostly geared towards improving sailing enjoyment and livability. A stack pack plus lazyjacks and a Tidesmarine Strong Track for both main and mizzen make sail handling a breeze. The many winches keeps everything led and tidy. A Walder boom brake simplifies down wind sailing ( as does having a mizzen). Putting the chart plotter under the dodger lets you[1]  sit in comfort while piloting the boat. The updated MFD is great for navigation as is the new radome.

The addition of Lithium batteries was an excellent upgrade for living aboard, no worries about having enough amps! With 4 solar panels, no need for any other charging most of the time. Enjoy running 2 refrigerators with freezers, charging electronics, etc. etc.

Having a sizable watermaker is another plus; drinkable water at the tap too. Most of the lighting is LED as well.

Since coming to the Caribbean in 2011, she has been stored in Trinidad for hurricane season and only sailed seasonally 4-6 months. The boat has been stored covered by a shrink wrap tent with all sails, lines and halyards removed and stored inside. Bottom paint removed to gel coat layer with new barrier coat and switch to ablative paint in 2017. Topsides repainted in 2018. Teak decking removed on side decks and replaced with fiberglass non skid in 2016.
