VESSEL SPECIFICATION

Description:

1992 Island Packet – IP38

This Island Packet 38 IP38 is a well-regarded, full-keel cruising sailboat known for its exceptional build quality, stability, and comfort. Designed for serious passage making as well as relaxed coastal cruising, the IP38 combines traditional lines with a spacious, practical interior. Her solid fiberglass construction and wide beam make her a trusted and comfortable home on the water. With a proven reputation for safety, seaworthiness and ease of handling, the Island Packet 38 is an excellent choice for sailors seeking a dependable cruiser that can handle long distances in comfort.

Blue Apple has had many upgrades and is in turnkey condition, ready to sail away.  Her Vetus bow thruster simplifies maneuvering, and 100m (328 ft) of brand new 3/8” galvanized anchor chain allows access to deeper anchorages.  Chainplates were replaced in 2016 and standing rigging was replaced in 2020. She has a brand-new mainsail from Mack Sails (2026), and a new windlass in 2023. The forward head has been converted to an Air Head composting head to eliminate tank smell, permeated lines and repairs. The gooseneck and boom were completely refurbished in 2024, and the in-boom reefing system was also replaced in 2024. All portlight glass was replaced in 2026.
